Devaraj had agreed to delete the photographs on payment of Rs 1 lakh and they had paid the money in installments through Google Pay.Dharani tells him that everyone craves to go into heights and it is not easy to let go of this great opportunity. Devaraj had threatened to post her personal photographs and videos on social media, the family said. Sravani's family said he started harassing her for money. The friendship between the two turned into love.
Devaraj had come into contact with the actress through Tik-Tok a few months ago. The family members alleged that Sravani took the extreme step as police had failed to act on her complaint against Devaraj. The police officer said Devaraj was arrested on a complaint by Sravani in June that he was pestering her to marry him. "Since Sravani's family is making an allegation, we will arrest and question him," the Circle Inspector added. Police sent a team to Andhra Pradesh's Kakinada town to arrest Devaraj. Nagar Circle Inspector Narasimha Reddy said their preliminary investigations revealed that the family members had pulled up Sravani for again moving around with Devaraj and after an argument with her mother and brother over the issue late Tuesday night, she went to her room and hanged herself. While the family alleged that she resorted to the extreme step due to harassment by her former boyfriend Devaraj Reddy, the police said the family had admonished her for moving around with him even after lodging a police case against him a few months ago. The body was shifted to Osmania Hospital for postmortem. Reportefly, Sravani, who was living on the second floor of H56 block in Mathura Nagar under Essar Nagar PS, Hyderabad, died by suicide between 9-10 pm. Devaraj is said to have harassed Sravani and she committed suicide out of that resentment. According to a report in TV9Telugu, family members allege that Sravani decided to end her life as a result of harassment by Devraj Reddy. While the reason for her death is still unknown, the police have registered a case and are investigating.
